Women in STEM 2026: 13 scholarships to support female talent in STEM

The Fondazione Giuseppina Mai, with the support of Confindustria's Sistema partners, opens the fourth edition of the Women in STEM call: 13 scholarships of €3,000 each for first-year female students in STEM master's degree programmes (AY 2025/2026). Applications close on 30 September 2026.

The Fondazione Giuseppina Mai, with the support of the Sistema network of Confindustria partners, has opened the fourth edition of the Women in STEM call, an initiative for young women who have chosen to build their future in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The goal is to recognize female talent and help close the gender gap in STEM fields, which are increasingly strategic for the country's growth, innovation, and competitiveness.

The call offers 13 scholarships of €3,000 (gross) each, awarded to the most deserving students enrolled in the first year of a STEM master's degree programme for academic year 2025/2026.

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be regularly enrolled, for academic year 2025/2026, in the first year of a STEM master's degree programme;
  • Have completed their bachelor's degree by 31 December 2025, with a final grade of at least 106/110 and a weighted exam average of at least 27/30;
  • Have a 2026 ISEE (Italian means-tested income indicator) not exceeding €37,000;
  • Not have already received another scholarship for the same degree programme.

The award ceremony will take place in Milan, on a date to be announced. Members are encouraged to share this opportunity with eligible students and networks.
