SWEN Talks, 23 and 24 September: sustainable microservices and fairness in multi-class classification
Two seminars next week in the SWEN Talks series: Eoan O'Dea (PhD student, SWEN) on what research and practitioners know and do about sustainable microservices (Wednesday 23, 14:30), and visiting researcher Maryam Boubekraoui (HESTIM and Cadi Ayyad University) on constrained optimisation for fairness in multi-class classification (Thursday 24, 12:00). Jjodel 3.0 released: a redesigned metamodeling workbench in the browser
The MODES Lab has released Jjodel 3.0, a complete redesign of SWEN's cloud-based metamodeling workbench: a new transformation language (JjTL), a unified expression language (JjEL), JjScript automation, the Jjodie AI assistant and a new UI. Free, open source, nothing to install.

Women in STEM 2026: 13 scholarships to support female talent in STEM
The Fondazione Giuseppina Mai, with the support of Confindustria's Sistema partners, opens the fourth edition of the Women in STEM call: 13 scholarships of €3,000 each for first-year female students in STEM master's degree programmes (AY 2025/2026). Applications close on 30 September 2026.

PhD positions in ICT at UnivAQ: 11 scholarships for cycle XLII
The University of L'Aquila's PhD program in ICT, coordinated by SWEN's Davide Di Ruscio, opens 11 fully funded scholarships for cycle XLII (2026/2027). Several topics sit at the core of SWEN's work, including a MOSAICO position on adversarial attacks against LLM-based multi-agent systems for software engineering. Applications close on 24 August 2026.
Event
SWEN Retreat 2026: July 13–15 in Borgotufi
The annual SWEN retreat takes place on July 13–15 at Borgotufi (Castel del Giudice, Alto Molise). Three days of plenary and breakout sessions, introductions of six new PhD students and postdocs, and a round table with the Deputy Rector for Research.
