Three days of research, planning, and community.
Once a year the whole group leaves the department and gathers in one place to look at the bigger picture: where our research is going, which collaborations to start next, and who has joined us along the way. In 2026 we meet in Borgotufi, a scattered-hotel village in Alto Molise.

New members
Six researchers join SWEN this year.
The retreat opens with self-introductions by the group's newest PhD students and postdocs — who they are, where they come from, and what they plan to work on.
The venue
Borgotufi, an albergo diffuso at 800 m.
Borgotufi is a restored stone village in Castel del Giudice, on the border between Molise and Abruzzo. Rooms are houses scattered across the village — the ideal setting for three days of focused work, long conversations, and evenings that last a little longer than planned.
